Dick Proenneke retired at age 50 in 1967 and decided to build his own cabin on the shore of Twin Lakes in remote Alaska. The first summer he scouted for the best site, and cut and peeled the logs he would need. He returned the following summer to finish the cabin where he would spend the next 30 plus years. He filmed much of his daily life and filmmaker Bob Swerer later added narrative from Proenneke's own journals to create four different videos that give us the opportunity to marvel at his life in Alaska.
